Ioana is a trusted strategic advisor and recognized leader in cybersecurity governance, strategy, and operational maturity. She brings over 28 years of experience, spanning practical strategy development, global security program implementation, operations leadership, and leading high-stakes breach recovery.A retiredAccenture Managing Director, Ioana provided cybersecurity consulting to more than four dozen Fortune 500 companies and co-authored Information Security Cost Management (Auerbach).

As one of Accenture’s select executives qualified to lead major breach recoveries, Ioana has been on the frontlines of guiding clients through the worst time in their careers. She has mobilized teams of up to 200 resources in a matter of weeks to accelerate and optimize recovery efforts. In this role, Ioana directly advised Executive Committees and Boards, guiding them safely through the recovery landmines.

Ioana ranked in the top 5% of Accenture Quality Assurance Directors, providing objective, outside-in reviews of sales pursuits and delivery. She ensured that engagements consistently delivered the expected value by identifying blind spots and mitigating delivery risks, creating opportunities for continued strategic partnerships.

Earlier in her career, Ioana built the security organizations of two startups, designing lean, scalable teams capable of sustaining effective security as the companies grew. Today, as Founder and CEO of Oceanswell Opportunities, she provides executive coaching for security and technology leaders who want to move from technical credibility to strategic authority, and delivers cyber advisory services that help boards and executive teams regain control of security capabilities, risk, and spending in the face of escalating threats.

Ioana’s career spans a breadth of security and industry experience: writing policies for the U.S. government, implementing SDLC improvements for an insurance company, transformational security programs for a retail giant and multiple high-tech organizations, negotiating trade control requirements with a global oil and gas legal team, and leading breach recoveries across the healthcare, industrial, and medical equipment sectors. She has architected security controls and developed numerous enterprise strategies that align technical risk with business priorities.

As a certified executive leadership coach, Ioana combines cyber advisoryexpertise with a facilitative approach, guiding executives to their own decisions, driving deeper alignment and accountability.
